Barkly Highway repairs finished

Repairs to the Barkly Highway - damaged when floodwaters from the Ranken River sluiced away 70 metres of the road on 5 January 2009 - have now been completed.

The Victoria River Bridge - 200 km west of Katherine – has been reopened to traffic.

Motorist message alert boards in Kununurra and Katherine have been updated.

Point Stuart Road Impassable

The Arnhem Highway is now passable to high clearance vehicles at the Wildman River west branch – 122km from the Stuart Highway.

Update on Fog Bay Road

The Charlotte River – nearly 5km from the Cox Peninsula Rd – and the Annie River – 10.4km from the Cox Peninsula Rd, can now only be negotiated with caution by high clearance vehicles.

Government lands system commercialised

16 February 2009

The NT Government will tomorrow sign a major land information management software deal with Salmat BusinessForce, a specialist outsourced business services company.

Department of Planning and Infrastructure CEO Richard Hancock will meet with Salmat BusinessForce executives to ratify the agreement, allowing BusinessForce to operate and market the Integrated Land Information System (ILIS) developed by the Department. Read Media Release
